The large central star is constructed with richly toned wool challis pieces in a variety of colors from violet through a madder red paisley to brown and emerald.
Satellite stars of paisley are set on backgrounds of tan challis. The 6 1/2 inch outer border is a woven brown and white check.
Quilted by the piece, in a diamond grid in the background areas, and in chevrons in the border, at about 7 stitches per inch.
Cotton backing is a gray woven plaid.
Outer edge is bound in a wool challis paisley print.
