| Found in Lancaster Co., PA, a nine-patch on point in striking colors. Measures a large 102 x 86 inches and dates from ca.1880's. In crisp, unused condition.
Nine-patch blocks of Lancaster blue and chrome yellow with double pink center squares are set on point and sashed with overdyed green with madder red corner squares, giving the quilt a look of overlapping lattices.
Individual squares measure about 2 3/4 inches, the broad chocolate border about 11 1/2 inches.
The quilting is done in a cable pattern throughout, at about 7 stitches per inch. The batting is very thin.
This backing of the quilt is another chocolate print, this time with the addition of a little orange & blue.
The separate binding is a madder red calico.
