A striking Garden Maze quilt from southeastern PA, this crisp, unused beauty measures about 89 x 86 inches, dates from the late 19th century.
|Using a solid red fabric, the quiltmaker has laid out the intricate geometric pattern on a background of a red and black on white print fabric.|
|Individual blocks measure about 10 1/4 inches square. A 9" wide border is comprised of two rows of sawtooth half-square triangles two and a half inches wide, separated by an open four inch area.|
|There is a solid red applied binding.|
|Hand quilted in cable, floral and grid patterns throughout at 6-7 stitches per inch.|
|The quilt is backed with a print fabric in red, black and white.|
