Sharon's Antiques

From Berks County, PA, a four block red and white Hawaiian style applique quilt, ca. 1900

Price: $895

Apparently made from paper-cut templates, the four large appliques each measure about 21 inches square and are set in blocks measuring 22 1/2 inches.
The blocks are divided and bordered with sashing consisting of two red stripes separated by a white, each about 1 1/4 inches wide, with 9-patch cornerstones.
The back of the quilt is plain white cotton. Back and top are both turned in at the edge and hand stitched together.
Quilted in outline, and in a cable pattern in the border, at about 7 stitches per inch.
