This redwork quilt is unusual in several aspects. It dates from 1904 and bears the name W.H. Wieser - found in Lehigh County, PA. about ten years ago. Instead of being constructed from the typical penny squares or other blocks featuring separate motifs, this quilt features an overall design with a ring of angels around the circular center, elaborate corner and border treatments, and motifs reflecting activities of the four seasons, one for each side.
